Since 2017, we have systematically supported the development of student self-governance in Ukraine. Within the framework of the RITA - Regional Transition programme, we have so far implemented 4 projects, through which we have disseminated the democratic principles of student self-government activities in many regions of Ukraine and built a network of people (teachers, representatives of methodological centres, members of NGOs) who, together with us, promote in Ukraine the belief that student self-government is an essential tool for democratic education in schools.
The activities we carried out in the framework of the project ‘We are building a coalition for student self-government in Ukraine’ in 2020-2021 culminated in the development of a ‘Charter of standards for student self-government activities in Ukraine’. It was preceded by extensive consultations of the charter's assumptions with Ukrainian teachers and students.
The aim of our recent activities was to develop the previously built coalition for student self-government in Ukraine and to promote and disseminate the democratic function of student self-government in Ukraine.
The main audiences of our activities are teachers and teaching methodologists from Ukraine, as well as pupils and students of Ukrainian primary and secondary schools.
