Workshops on the European elections

01.02.2024 - 31.05.2024
project targeted at Youth
The Civis Polonus Foundation and the European Parliament Office in Poland jointly implemented a voter turnour project for young people ahead of the upcoming European Parliament elections on 9 June 2024.

The aim of the workshop was to familiarise young people with the functioning of the EU institutions, increase their knowledge of the European Union and encourage them to participate in the first European Parliament elections in their lives. The workshops wee completely free and politically non- biased.

During the meetings, we explored together how the European Parliament works, how EU legislation affects the lives of EU citizens and nationals, and why it is worth voting in the 2024 European elections.

Meetings

Between February and May 2024, we organised 4 training events for members of the Together.eu community. Each event featured lectures by Team Europe experts on the role of the European Parliament and the importance of the upcoming elections, as well as workshops on the European Union. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in a knowledge quiz about the European community and win European Parliament gadgets.

The training sessions were held in the Europa Experience centre in Warsaw. Europa Experience is a multimedia centre with interactive tools being opened all over Europe, providing a direct and exciting way to learn how cooperation at the European level helps to tackle major current issues.

Individuals as well as organised groups of pupils or students took part in the meetings. The training sessions were organised for people who could vote in the European Parliament elections on 9 June 2024.
