Global education for professionals

01.09.2024 - 30.06.2025
project targeted at Youth School Climate action
This innovative project is addressed to teachers and students of vocational and technical schools. It aims at developing awareness of global interdependence and responsibility for the world around us.

In an age of increasing globalization, vocational education cannot ignore topics related to challenges such as climate change, social equality or human rights. These issues are crucial for future professionals who will operate in markets strongly linked to global trends.

Aim of the project

The project focuses on improving the competence of teachers and students in global education, which is usually underrepresented in school programs in Poland. Global Education is a tool that not only expands knowledge, but also teaches young people to think critically, make responsible decisions and see the connections between local actions and global impact.

The project aims not just at one-time events, but at making a permanent change in the approach to teaching in vocational schools. Teachers will gain knowledge that they can pass on for years to come, and students will gain the competencies they need to function responsibly and consciously in a globalized world.

Project results

As part of the project, we will implement:
  • Training for teachers - an intensive training meeting that will provide teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement global education in their classes. Issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals will be discussed, and methods of combining Global Education content with vocational subjects will be presented.
  • Global Education lessons - students from vocational and technical schools will participate in lessons that incorporate the topic of global interdependence. Teachers will use modern pedagogical approaches that engage students and allow them to fully understand how their actions affect the world.
  • Student projects - male and female students will implement outreach campaigns that focus on selected global education issues, such as human rights, decent work, environmental protection or responsible consumption
  • Methodology booklet containing 55 lesson proposals that combine requirements from the core curriculum with global issues. The publication will be a tool for teachers who want to introduce Global Education topics into their lessons in a thoughtful and effective way.
